Interior Designer

Heartland Builders, established in 1997, is an On-Your-Lot Custom Builder based in Grand Rapids, MI, with plans to expand to Holland, MI. We specialize in building on our clients' land and operate within a 75-mile radius of our offices. Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive support to clients in material and product selections.
• Coordinate dissemination of information to clients, Heartland Builders, and trade partners during the selection process.
• Coordinate with vendors, trades, and estimators to maintain current and relevant selection offerings.
• Act as the point of contact throughout the selection process and actively listen to customer needs.
• Ensure the Design Studio reflects current trends and relevant selection choices.
• Schedule update meetings with vendors and trades for selection offering reviews.
• Develop selection packages for clients and educate Heartland staff on requirements.
• Meet with clients as required for selection processes and architectural design phases.
• Review the client's design style and lifestyle, and provide input toward space planning and functionality.
• Coordinate off-site visits to vendors with clients and provide furniture and accessory staging direction.
• Document "To-Do" requests, material choices, and sketches within BuilderTrend during selection meetings.
• Maintain relevant information in the company's database for each client and communicate architectural drawing changes.
• Prepare Project Manager Binder and ensure proper documentation/installation drawings for clients.
• Assist with marketing initiatives on Social Media, networking events, and creating vignettes with material selections for display.
• Participate in product training and education opportunities and work to improve Heartland Builders processes and systems.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Interior Design is required.
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in Interior Design or a related field.
• Proficiency in reading architectural plans.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to oversee the entire project.
• Experience with architectural design software such as Chief Architect, AutoCAD, or SketchUp is preferred.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong visualization and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional organization.
• Ability to quickly establish a high level of trust and credibility with clients.
